Revolutionary New Software Libraries Simplify Automation of Industrial Robots
from Denso, Mitsubishi and Kuka

New Graphical Libraries Incorporate Three Leading Robot Programming Architectures Into a Single NI LabVIEW programming environment for Robot Control, Machine Vision and Measurements

LODI, Italy – 23 March, 2011

ImagingLab, an Italian vision and robotics integration company, today announced three new industrial robotics-focused graphical libraries for National Instruments LabVIEW graphical system design software. The libraries incorporate the robot programming architectures from leading industrial robots from Denso, Mitsubishi and Kuka into a single programming environment for robot control, machine vision and measurements.

IMAGINGLAB ROBOTICS LIBRARY FOR DENSO

This library from ImagingLab communicates directly with Denso controllers to command and control Denso robotic arms through NI LabVIEW graphical software. The new library is an easy-to-use collection of graphical functions that provide the ability to use a single software environment to control and integrate every aspect of a machine, from part handling and robot control to advanced measurements and machine vision. Due to the ease of use of LabVIEW, engineers who normally would not use industrial robotics because of lack of specialized programming experience now can easily integrate them into their applications to automate laboratories, precisely assemble components and test complex parts.

IMAGINGLAB ROBOTICS LIBRARY FOR MITSUBISHI

Similar to the ImagingLab Robotics Library for Denso, the ImagingLab Robotics Library for Mitsubishi provides tools to directly control Mitsubishi robots over Ethernet and serial. The library is specifically optimized for use with LabVIEW, which helps engineers and scientists to implement all aspects of a robotics system, including machine vision, without the need for complex robotics programming expertise. The library increases productivity and performance in automated test, research and manufacturing applications, which helps reduce cost and shorten development time.

IMAGINGLAB ROBOTICS LIBRARY FOR KUKA

The latest addition to the ImagingLabs robotics library platform covers Kuka robots, fully recognizing the importance of a big player in robotics like Kuka, with a wide range of robot models covering many industrial applications. The first successful installation, using LabVIEW to integrate vision and robotics, has been recently released for a wood furniture painting line, using a KR30L16 robot. A 3D vision system detects the part geometry, including that of new parts, and the vision software automatically generates a path for the robot painting trajectories. Every aspect of the application is programmed using LabVIEW.
